August - Cornfield Maze

While Mommy went off to a friend's wedding, Papa took the kids to a cornfield maze. The reactions were mixed but fun was had by all. Especially when the reward for finding all the "stations" in the maze was ice cream.

August - Bye, bye Gramps!

Gramps' been staying with us for the last 4 weeks, touring around Europe and spending quality time with all of us before retiring back to the US.
We spent our last day with him yesterday on a walk through the Schönbuch, looked at some deer, ate ice cream, and played on the playground.
He's been here two years and all of David's life. We will miss him!

July - Happy Birthday, Opa!

We just got back from a weekend in Roßdorf, celebrating Opa's Birthday. We got to spend lots of time with Granny and Opa and both cousins, which everyone enjoyed.
Happy Birthday!
The new coffee machine was a big hit
All 10 of us

July - Bowling

We took the kids bowling for the first time. They put "bumpers" up on the lane, so no gutter balls (Mommy wants that next time, too) and have a ramp to give the ball some speed. As we left the bowling alley, Julia wanted to know when we'd be back. What fun!!
Weeee!
Dini push.
I love the shoes!

What happens next?

July - Playground

With Gramps around we have an in-house photographer so for this month we get some extra shots we'd never have otherwise. Here, an afternoon at the playground:
No need to guess the outcome of this...
Zoom, zoom, zoom, we're flying to the moon!

Bounce, bounce - Mommy knows why she stayed on firm ground.

July - Purchasing Summer Festival

On Saturday Tom's division put on a fantastic summer festival for staff and families. We ended up staying from 10am until nearly closing time at 5pm. No one was bored, not even for a minute - loads to do and tons to eat & drink. After carousels, water pistols, coloring on cars, eating gingerbread cars, riding in cars, looking at fancy cars, cars filled with candy, face painting, trampoline, ice cream, candy, cake, etc, etc, etc we came home very full and very tired, but what a great day!

June - Darmstadt Seidel's Visit

Mark, Birgit, Lena, and David spent three days with us recently. Especially the girls loved the time together and enjoyed all the fun and games - making bedtime particularly difficult... We spent one day at Traumland, a kid amusement park, perfect for our 2 & 3 year olds. Other fun included splashing in the pool, eating ice cream, and playing with the new train set.

Look out! Here we come.
Whoosh!
Aunt & Niece flying high
Happy Papa & Kids
Big Sisters
Little Brothers
Fun, fun, fun!
Good Times

May - 125! Jahre Innovation

We went to the Daimler Employee Fest last night, celebrating 125 years of car manufacturing & innovation (see new home page pic, too). BIG beer tent, entertainment for kids & adults - magic & music, balloons & games. After some initial shyness our two totally got into the beer fest groove, loved sitting at the table, eating & drinking, listening to the live music, running around, and dancing.
The Seidel Family - being very German

Loving the food & music
Loving the balloon hat!

May - Granny & Opa's Visits

Granny & Opa visited us two weekends in a row - first to participate in the Kindergarten Fest and then to celebrate Tom's birthday. It was great to have them. David especially misses them. He walks around the house asking "Gnny?" "Opo?", looking for all the people. On Tom's birthday we went to the Killesberg park in Stuttgart. The weather didn't start out well, but greatly improved and we all enjoyed the picnic, train ride, and watching Granny & the kids romp around the park :-)

May - Kindergarten Fest

Article in local paper about our Kindergarten Fest this past weekend

April - Vacation in Greece

One week for the four of us to be pampered and our respective needs met - a little bit of heaven in the southern Peloponnese. Gramma and Guy played with the kids, read books (over and over), cooked, cleaned, and babysat, while Julia & David loved the attention and Mama & Papa just sat back, watched, and read our own books (!!!). We even got to go out on two "dates". Lovely.
David & Guy in their favorite spot.
Driving through the supermarket - a real highlight!
Water! But too cold to swim in (for all but Guy!).
Mama-time while Gramma was cooking.

These two were inseparable most of the time.
Spent some time playing in the BIG sandbox.
Dinner together at the local Kafenion.
Push!

THANK YOU for a great week!

April - Easter

The Easter bunny was very busy this year - started in Dachtel at Kindergarten; went on to Roßdorf, where he hid little packages all over the garden; and finished in Hennen at the annual Seidel-Easter-Meet. David loved the chocolates. Julia did too, but for the first time, she also got into the search.

March - Visit from Inga & Kids

Inga and her kids came to visit us for a few days all the way from the North of Germany. Looong drive but it was worth it. We enjoyed three days of beautiful weather, the Stuttgart zoo, a camel farm, and ice cream just about every day. We hope to see them again this summer when we drive up there.

March - Skiing in Austria

We enjoyed a sunny week of skiing and family time in Austria at the beginning of March with the Hans Seidel clan. While two adults (and sometimes one little girl) went skiing, the rest of the family got to stay back and play together. Julia loved the action on the slopes and her laughter and calls of "faster, faster" could be heard far and wide.
